Lara Nakhle is a 25-year-old New Zealand born, Australian of Lebanese origin, who discovered her talent and passion for music at a very young age. She started playing piano from the age of two and singing followed soon after.
Lara has an eye condition since birth called Lebers Congenital Amaurosis which means she is totally blind but with some light perception.
Since 2017 when Lara finished top 48 on The Voice Australia (then on Channel 9 and joined team SEAL, Lara has performed at a range of events around Sydney and throughout Australia and internationally with highlights including The Invictus Games in Sydney in 2018, Tamworth Country Music Festival – TSA Talent quest winner in 2019, Featured artist at the National Flag Raising and Citizenship Ceremony in Canberra on Australia Day in 2021 & BLV performer & AAMI Carols Ambassador at Carols by Candlelight in Melbourne in 2022 & 2023.
Lara has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and just completed a Master’s in Creative Music Therapy & is now a registered music therapist (RMT) which she hopes to use to help others to achieve their own goals and dreams as she does herself.
Lara has released 5 original tracks and as many covers, with her most recent in June 2023, ‘New Day’, an empowering an uplifting song drawn from her own experiences.
Lara was also nominated for Blind Australian of the Year 2023 and is currently heading the current AAMI DOES campaign across TV and cinema as well as the new voice of ‘Lucky You’re With AAMI’ jingle.
Lara was also featured in the Dylan Alcott Foundation’s Shift 20 Initiative campaign in 2023.
